My Grandpa passed away a few days ago and in memory of him here are a few stories that make me laugh instead of cry.
Grandpa came over to our house with his truck full of manure and said "Pam this is good s*%#"
We walked into Grandpas room and thought he was watching football. Instead he was watching a Spanish channel with Hispanics in bikinis. He didn't change the channel but yet replied with "I'm practicing my Spanish". He went on to say how he couldn't understand why Brent stopped working at the Delano as a pool attendant "practicing his Spanish" while rubbing down women with suntan lotion
When I brought my fiancé to meet Grandma and Grandpa, he counseled me to marry for money and to forget about looks. I guess he gave the best counsel because I ended up marring Rich.
When I was young, Grandpa took Brent and me to help weed and water and elderly woman's garden which he tended. He, like most grandparents, loved to spoil us. Our reward for helping was a sweet treat. It was a 3 foot long pixy stick. Now, whenever I see pixy sticks, I always think of Grandpa.
I remember Grandpa saying that Grandma is still the most beautiful women he has ever seen.
Rich and I went to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa took Rich to JB's for and all you can eat buffet. Grandpa told Rich while eating that he could just watch Rich "eat and eat and eat" and was amazed that Rich stayed thin. Grandpa sure did love buffets and would take us out to Chuck-A-Rama any chance he got.
Grandpa came to almost all my high school basketball games. I would always find him on the back row eating popcorn and yelling at the refs whenever they made a call against my team. He would meet me outside the locker room after the games to give me a big hug and tell me he was proud of me.

That is so sweet! Those are lots of good memories. I'm sad you have to come to Boise for such a hard time with his death but I am sure excited to see you!
That was really nice Cheryl! See you soon!
Super sweet picture. I love it.
Love the stories of grandpa. It was so fun to see you and the rest of the family.
